Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You

I am overwhelmed with the amount of love that Shorty and I have felt in the past few days. I know this is a tough time for most of us right now, so I was blown away by the amount of people who have donated for Shorty's hip surgery. Since I posted on Friday, I have received over $400 in donations!

For those of you who donated, and you know who you are:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

It means so much to me that I have friends who are willing to lend a hand (or give some money) when I am in need. My heart is overflowing with joy.

And for everyone else, thank you so much for your words of encouragement. And telling me that you wanted to kick some trucker ass as well! You are all so wonderful and I hope that I can be as supportive of you as you have been of me.

If you want to donate, there is still time. Go here.

Shorty's hip surgery went amazingly well and he is being such a trooper! We picked him up from the vets on Saturday morning. He slept off the drugs until the afternoon, and then when we let him outside in the evening he was just as he was before the surgery: happy, excited, loving and playful. He is such a toughy I don't even think he noticed that his hip was sewn back together. He has a long recovery ahead of him but considering what he has lived through so far, I am sure the recovery will be a breeze for him.

OMG I am sickened by the person who did this to that poor little dog (I just got finished reading Friday's post)

You two are heros indeed and I am so happy to hear that he is doing so well!!!

I am so sorry you can't keep but but at least he will be going to a loving home.

That is so cool how people are donating to him and you. People are so nice. I wish I had thought of that. Our dog's bills were 3 times your amount for her cancer and amputation!

Good luck with Shorty and give him a HUGE hug from me!!

Wow, what a story! (I've been out of bloggy land for several days now so I'm just now hearing and reading). What a great humane you are! I'm so glad he's in a loving, caring place now.

Can I send you some cash in the mail for this instead of using the online feature? It's just what I prefer to do.

great news..I'd love to be able to donate, but I'm so poor I can't afford to pay attention.
aren't blogger families wonderful? when annie was sick and needed expensive vet care that I couldn't afford, my blogger family paid in over $1,100 to pay off her bills...

Hello there Yankee Girl!!

So happy to hear shorty's recovery is well on its way!

Lots, yet not much going on with this chica...I can report that I am loving the spring weather, minus the occasional setbacks and snow...looking forward for warmer temps and good things to come.
