Your Kiss is on My List

Leland is a metalhead.

Urban Dictionary describes a metalhead as a fan of heavy metal music, who hates the mainstream and generally does whatever the hell he/she wants and is his/her own person
How to identify a metalhead: long hair, black leather jacket, denim jacket often with patches bearing band logos sown in, tshirt bearing a metal band's name, however, these are not necessary, because true metal lies in the soul.

This desctription matches Leland perfectly. He has long hair, he wears a black leather jacket, and he has approximately 4,354,712 band tshirts. And he also does whatever the hell he wants, like listening to Hall & Oates.

That's right folks. Not only does Leland listen to Hall & Oates, he actually dances to them by himself in the kitchen.

Last night as I was making dinner, Leland went to the computer and started playing Kiss On My List. He was smiling and happy and doing quite possibly the most ridiculous dance moves I have ever seen. When I started laughing at him he said, "hold on, I get to do the backups in a second." And then he started singing the backup vocals. But not just singing, he really meant it. My kiss is on his list.

Or actually, John Oates's kiss his on his list, because when I asked him which guy he would do, he said "Oh, John Oates for sure. I just can't get enough of that 'stache."

Yes, we actually have conversations about what guys Leland would go gay for. And apparently John Oates makes the cut.

For your listening pleasure:

I think the song just asks for people to do ridiculous dance moves.

At least YOUR kiss is on his list, and it's a good sign that he trusts you if he's willing to do ridiculous dance moves right in front of you! :-)

Okay, so, the hubs and I made a Hall & Oates 'best of' CD and, I have to admit, it's one of my favorites. I only wish I were kidding about that.

I think Leland's taste is the bomb!

Love it! I used to be a big Hall and Oates fan.

Kiss Is On My List reminds me of when I was 13 hanging with Dev at the arcade and playing pool. Oates has lost the 'stache, btw so Leland may have to refresh his choice.

I love it! And I love Hall and Oates! I got super geeked when they were on the American Idol finale last season.

You have to figure out a way to record that shit! Because I have to admit, the vision I had of Leland was always a hard core outer shell and a softy on the inside, but this takes my images of him to a whole new level.

I was obsessed with Hall and Oates in the 80's. I even made a poster in art class when we had to choose our favorite group and make a concert poster. Saw them sing live at Liberty State Park and somewhere else - can't remember the venue -- I got all misty- eyed as soon as Daryl started singing...

Yeah, I had the crush on him not John Oates -- although I do agree with Leeland about the 'stache.

I have to say that Maneater or Private Eyes were my faves- oh, or Sara smile - very sweet...

Would have never pictured Leeland to be a H&O fan - but I loves it!!!

In the words of Southpark Creators Matt and Trey, "aren't we all just a little bit gay?" LOL! :-P

Great story, thanks for sharing it. Now I have that song stuck in my head...

I love this! And I love H&O, though "Private Eyes_ is my corny favorite. Tell Leland that I have been known to switch from listening to Pearl Jam's "Black" to 70s mellow rock like Player. It's funny how diverse how musical tastes can develop over the years! I know that it is cornball city and yet, it makes me smile!

The life you two share makes me incredibly happy.

I hope to find a very special man who will discuss his celebrity man-crushes and who will not be threatened when I claim that I would go gay for Salma Hayek. Because I would. In a heartbeat.

Also, Hall & Oates is one of the best things to happen to music, mustaches and my life.
